Terms of Use

Preamble

These Terms of Use govern participation in the "AI Tutor Luka" research project, a voice-based AI tutor for the business@school Canvas section "Market and Trends." PhD candidate Alexander Scheuer is responsible for conducting the research project and processing the data. business@school provides information about the project and facilitates contact.

1. Scope

These terms apply to all users of the AI Tutor Luka research project platform.

2. Eligible Participants

Students currently participating in the business@school program may take part. Minors additionally require the digital consent of a parent or legal guardian. Teachers support participation but are not themselves study participants.

3. Registration

Registration is completed electronically via the form on this website. For minors, an email is automatically sent to the specified parent or legal guardian after the form is submitted. Access to the study is only granted after digital consent has been given and the activation link has been sent.

4. Use of the AI Tutor and Its Responses

AI Tutor Luka is available during a usage window of four to two weeks before the respective school's pitch event. The AI tutor's responses serve solely as learning support: they are intended to help participants think independently and to justify their own reasoning. Entering personal, confidential, or third-party proprietary information is not permitted. The AI tutor's responses may be incomplete or inaccurate and do not replace a teacher. They do not constitute recommendations to take any particular action. Responsibility for the use of the AI tutor's responses and for all decisions based on them lies solely with the participant. Using the AI tutor's responses for unlawful purposes is not permitted.

5. Obligations of Participants

Participants agree to provide truthful information, not to misuse the platform, and not to share their access credentials with others.

6. Voluntary Participation and Termination

Participation is voluntary. Choosing not to participate has no effect whatsoever on participation in business@school. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, informally, by emailing the project team; the corresponding data record will then be deleted without delay.

7. Liability

Liability for damages arising from the use of the platform or the AI tutor is limited to intent and gross negligence. This does not cover liability for damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health, or from the breach of obligations whose fulfillment enables the proper performance of the contract in the first place and on whose compliance the contractual partner regularly relies (so-called cardinal obligations). Liability for the slight negligent breach of cardinal obligations is limited to foreseeable, typical contractual damages foreseeable at the time of concluding the contract.

8. Final Provisions

German law applies. Should individual provisions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
